Exporting Leads from InboxApp

Written by Kevin

If you’d like to export your leads from InboxApp (formerly TweetDM) — for backup, reporting, import elsewhere, or analysis — it’s easy. This guide shows you how.

Before you start

  • You must have Admin or Export permission in your InboxApp workspace.

  • Decide whether you want to export all leads or a filtered subset (by date, status, tag, inbox, owner, etc.). Filtering first helps you export only the leads you need.

  1. Open the Leads (or Contacts) page

    • Log in and go to the left-hand menu → Leads (or whichever page shows your full lead list).

  2. Apply filters (optional but recommended)

    • Use the filter bar or search to narrow down leads by date range, status, tag, source, inbox, owner, or custom field.

    • Confirm that the list displays the leads you want to export.

  3. Select leads (optional)

    • If you want to export only certain leads: check the boxes next to them.

    • If you want all the filtered leads: use the top checkbox or “Select all” option.

  4. Click the “Export” button

    • On the leads table toolbar (or inside the more-actions menu, depending on your layout), find and click Export.

  5. Wait for the export to complete

    • For small datasets it should download immediately.

    • For large exports, InboxApp may prepare the file in the background — check your notifications menu or email (if enabled).

  6. Download your file

    • If download doesn’t start automatically, go to Notifications → Exports (or equivalent) and click the export to download.

  7. Open and verify your data

    • Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets, or another spreadsheet tool.

    • Confirm that all expected columns are present, dates are correct, and that custom fields are included.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • I don't see an expert button

→ You may lack sufficient permissions. Request “Admin” or “Export” access from your workspace admin.

  • Custom fields are missing in the export.

→ Make sure to select them in the export options before generating the file.

  • The export file is too large or fails.

→ Try exporting in smaller batches — use filters (date range, status, owner) or split into segments.

  • Dates or special fields look wrong in Excel/Sheets.

→ Ensure your spreadsheet parses dates in the correct format (e.g. YYYY-MM-DD) or adjust column formatting manually.
